Tasting Notes
Orange, nuts and caramel on the nose, with pear and shortbread on the palate, hint of boiled sweets and a warm finish.
Nose
Jelly beans, icing sugar, vanilla, butterscotch, cashews, Caramac bars, lemon meringue, white chocolate, fresh satsuma, cherries, strawberries & cream.
Palate
White chocolate, fudge, poached pear, summer berries, shortbread, lemon zest, smoke and fennel seed.
Finish:
Rhubarb and custard, banana, candied ginger, orange fondant, peppermint creams, warm pepper & cinnamon.
Rum Cask Finish is a vatting of lightly peated single malt initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for over 12 months in our very own Derbyshire rum casks. Emptied of Derbyshire rum freshly filled the same week with our single malt whisky. This is the first Wire Works single malt whisky finished for the first time in our very own Derbyshire Rum casks and bottled at cask strength of 57.2%, and a very limited release of 558 bottles.
