Caduro X: Celebrating 10 Years at The Wireworks
Ten years in business feels like a milestone worth marking.
To celebrate, we wanted to create a release that reflects the DNA of making—capturing not just where we are today, but everything that’s shaped us along the way. Caduro X is a celebration of that journey. Since founding White Peak Distillery in 2016 and finding our home at The Wireworks, our approach has been guided by a simple idea: to make things the proper way. Every decision has been driven by a commitment to provenance, heritage, and flavour.
Caduro X reflects a legacy of innovation and craftsmanship rooted in The Wireworks itself—a place of making dating back 150 years, and now we mark a new decade in that story. Here, ideas are shared, tested, refined, and brought to life. That same spirit continues to shape everything we do today. Caduro X recognises the people, the place, and the processes that have made Wire Works Whisky what it is—crafted with patience, passion, and an unwavering focus on flavour.
Over the past decade, we’ve explored every stage of whisky-making to better understand how flavour is built—from fermentation and distillation through to maturation and final blending. Caduro X is a reflection of that journey.
Like its namesake Caduro—the first whisky in our Wire Works Provenance Core range—this release is built on a vatting of our signature STR (ex-red wine) casks and first fill ex-bourbon barrels. It represents the natural evolution of our early work, building on our First Release in 2022 and the ‘Small Batch’ releases that followed.
For this limited-edition release, we’ve worked with both our ‘regular-cuts’ and ‘alt-cuts’ single malts), using the alternate distillation cut-points to lean into a brighter profile, carrying a tropical fruit character and a subtle uptick in peat. To add further depth, we’ve used ‘special waters’ to proof the whisky down to 46.8%; a technique where we mature our low-strength spirit in oak casks to access the range of water-soluble flavours and textures that high strength spirits can’t reach.
The result is a rich, sweet and spicy dram—full of orchard and tropical fruits, toffee and chocolate, with a gentle thread of smoke.
