Tasting Notes Â
Bakewell pudding- cinder toffee- vanilla fudge
Cinder toffee, demerara sugar, strawberry laces on the nose, with flavours of vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, marzipan, and cherry pie filling on the palate.
Nose: Bakewell pudding, milk chocolate, cinder toffee, burnt sugar, cinnamon buns, liquorice all sorts, cherry lozenges, toasted almond, candied ginger, strawberry jam.
Palate: Marzipan, strawberries and cream, tinned peaches, lemon curd, vanilla fudge, spearmint, milk chocolate, orange zest and rhubarb.
Finish: Cherry pie filling, coffee grounds, honey, bonfire toffee, hibiscus, Turkish delight, and eucalyptus.
Port Cask is a vatting of lightly-peated single malt whisky, aged in both fresh Tawny Port barriques, and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a complex whisky with a rich full texture and a bold, vibrant fruit profile.
Since our earliest days, Port casks have been part of the Wire Works journey. We’ve released Double Oak Port, Full Port, and a Distillery-exclusive hand-fill, all matured in Tawny Port casks. Earlier this year, we explored a new path with Port Wine LBV, a release finished in Late Bottled Vintage Port barriques. Each of these casks brought something unique, but together they’ve built the foundation for this core release.
