Tasting Notes
Rich, sweet and spicy. Full of orchard and tropical fruits, toffee and chocolate, and a gentle thread of smoke.
Nose: Banoffee pie, egg custard tarts, murray mints, a hint of peat, wine gums, wood spice, baked apple, strawberry laces, orange zest.
Palate: Cinnamon rolls, butter icing, pineapple cubes, milk chocolate, yoghurt coated cranberries, marmalade, gentle tannins, nutmeg.
Finish: Cinder toffee, candied ginger, cinnamon balls, honey, apple sours, gentle wood smoke.
Wire Works Caduro X celebrates the 10th anniversary of White Peak Distillery. Capturing not just where we are today, but everything that’s shaped us along the way.
Like its namesake Caduro (from our Wire Works Provenance Core range), the whisky is a vatting of first fill ex-bourbon barrels and our signature STR casks. Caduro X brings forth our DNA of making and commitment to innovation.
We’ve worked with both our ‘regular-cuts’ and ‘alt-cuts’ single malts, using the alternate distillation cut-points to lean into a brighter profile, carrying a tropical fruit character and a subtle uptick in peat. To add further depth, we’ve used ‘special waters’ to proof the whisky down to bottling strength.
