Why We Started Our Community Litter Picks

Back in 2017, as the Distillery was taking shape, we decided to start a local community litter pick. Building a community and bringing people along on our journey has always been a priority for us. The idea was simple — do something positive for our environment, together.

Founder Max has always returned from runs and walks with armfuls of litter, so this is a cause close to our hearts. Running regular picks while growing a small business is no easy feat, but we’re committed to it. Over the coming months, we hope to team up with local pubs to host more litter picks across the area — with a goal of completing at least three in 2025.

Become a Co-Owner in Our Community Cask

To make your efforts even more rewarding, we’ve donated a 100-litre community cask of whisky to the cause. Join four or more of our litter picks and you’ll become a co-owner. We’ll partially bottle it in 2026 to celebrate 10 years since the business began — so there’s plenty of time to get involved and earn your share.

Why It Matters

We’re lucky to be surrounded by beautiful countryside, ancient woodland, and areas with SSSI status (Site of Special Scientific Interest). These are landscapes worth protecting — and caring for together.

🕕 When: 6:00–7:30pm

🚗 Parking: Along the road next to the pub

🍺 After: Back at the pub around 7:30pm for a pint & nibbles (thanks, Dan!)
