Distillery Exclusive Single Cask Hand-Fill
At the start of 2024, we introduced an exclusive self-fill bottling to our whisky offer â giving visitors to White Peak Distillery the opportunity to fill their own bottle of Wire Works Whisky.
We believed our guests would enjoy the hands-on experience and the theatre of filling their personal bottle. Also with the opportunity to take away a unique âin personâ single cask of Wire Works whisky. So much today is available online and skips past the in person interaction, and we wanted to reward time spent in conversation and considered choice.

Inspired by a visit to the world-renowned Berry Bros & Rudd wine merchants at No.3 St Jamesâs, London, we decided to adopt some of its documented heritage and start a âledgerâ for those choosing to fill their own. Alongside the date, the ledger records the customerâs name, address, the hand fill Wire Works cask type and individual bottle serial number.
The original BBR ledger was a âweight bookâ which, centuries ago, with advancing awareness of health, gave its customers the opportunity to record their weight. Each weighing was carefully logged in leather-bound ledgers, alongside the customerâs name and the date. In 2024 BBR celebrated its 325th anniversary and the ledgers document the in person interactions over multiple centuries. (Donât worry â unlike Berry Bros., we wonât be weighing you.)

At White Peak Distillery weâve released a number of exclusive hand-fill whiskies over the years. That are available only to those visiting our distillery shop. These limited expressions have included Overproof Over Smoke, Oloroso Quarter Cask, Calvados Finish and Tawny Port Cask. Each one has offered a unique take on our house style. Matured or finished in distinctive casks to showcase a different side of our spirit. These hand-fills are bottled by hand and available in limited quantities, making them a special keepsake or gift for any whisky enthusiast, exclusively in store.

In time, we hope that our own ledgers will have a similar story to tell – of conversations, connections, and shared moments over a dram of Wire Works Whisky. With a new edition approx. every quarter thereâs a rolling opportunity to leave your mark on the unfolding history of English whisky.
