Tasting Notes A complex, approachable single malt whisky in our lightly-peated spirit. Vanilla butter fudge, green apples and fruitcake on the nose, with tobacco, bitter orange marmalade and cereal on the palate, with smoke and spice on the finish, fading to a sweet vanilla.
Nose Green apples, pears, vanilla butter fudge, fruitcake, love hearts, orange, mixed peel, popcorn, burnt sugar, lime pickle, potpourri, lingonberry jam.
Palate Tobacco, allspice, bitter orange marmalade, cereal. vanilla, liquorice, char, chocolate, sawdust, baklava, treacle tart, pistachio, marshmallow, lemon zest.
Finish Nutmeg, mace, wisp of smoke.
Say hello to the latest in the Small Batch series. Bottled at a higher ABV than its award winning summer sibling, coming in at 47.7%. Matured in a combination of first fill ex-bourbon and STR casks with a higher proportion of American oak. The casks have been selected from the warmer upper dunnage at the Distillery where the warmer temperatures provide variation in wood extract.
Picking up top honours with a Master Medal at the 2022 World Whisky Masters, here’s what the judges had to say:
“crème brûlée on the nose, marshmallows, but not overly sweet” with “maltiness coming through on the palate, and a slightly herbal quality.”
